Earlier this week the City of Orlando approved a $140 million high rise project for Downtown Orlando.

Zoi House, which means “life” in Greek, will be the tallest building in Orlando. The building will include space for retail, office buildings and apartments. The plans show that the very top will have a pool deck overlooking the city, 300 apartments, 6 floors of office space at the bottom of the building and below that, a parking deck.

The 41-story building will be 467 tall, making it 40 feet taller than the existing tallest building in Orlando – the SunTrust Building, which is 427 feet tall. The Orange County Courthouse is the next largest, around 419 feet. Zoi House will be built next to the Bank of America building downtown.

Although the date for breaking ground hasn’t been released yet, construction is expected to take two years.
